Our Mission
We are dedicated to showing care and compassion to those in need, during times of crisis. Through the help of our partners and volunteers, we reach out to individuals facing personal crisis with arms of love. In addition to individual outreach during crisis, we are focused on advanced preparation for times that entire communities may face hardship or calamity. We wish to enable everyone to face adversity with hope and dignity, feeling the love of God and of their fellow Man. This is our mission. No one should have to face their struggles alone.
Quilts of Hope
In keeping with out mission to reach out to individuals facing crisis we work with the Ascension Via Christi Regional Burn Center to provide a meaningful gift for each of the patients who survive and are being discharged from the burn unit
burn survivors with skin grafts often experience ongoing issues with healing and temperature regulation due to the compromised function of grafted skin, which may not sweat or regulate blood flow as effectively as healthy skin, making them more susceptible to overheating in warm environments and potentially experiencing impaired temperature sensation in the grafted areas. This is why we provide a handmade quilt to each survivor being discharged from the unit.
We feel that a snuggle with a quilt is a unique experience. You don’t get that feeling from anything else. We also feel that it is especially meaningful for people who have had such a battle to heal their skin as well as the ongoing struggles that burn survivors must experience every day. Our heart goes out to all of these special patients from the burn unit.
We need volunteers! If you would like to donate your time, talents, fabric, or funds to help us meet our goal of 25 quilts per month to the burn unit please click HERE.
Preparation to Help Communities
In keeping with our mission to be focused on advanced preparation for times that entire communities may face hardship or calamity, we are directing efforts towards that end. We understand that in these circumstances communities may lack the basic necessities of life such as shelter, clean water, food, and clothing.
We are putting effort into funding and developing clean water solutions to allow for potable water for drinking and cooking as well as water for washing and hygiene.
We are putting together hygiene kits that may be donated to displaced community individuals after a natural disaster. If you would like to donate items or money to help with these kits click HERE.
We are researching what we can best do to help FEMA and other partner groups provide shelter and food for these communities as well. If you would like to donate to fund this research please dontate HERE.
